CSS provides quality, community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals are supported in accordance with their needs in school, work, home, and the community. Services are designed by the individual, the individual's family, and others who know the individual well. Services are rendered in the environments in which the individual desires to live, work, recreate, or pursue educational goals, and are designed to support each to pursue his or her own self-directed life goals.

THANK YOU to Kevin Kane and friends, Georgetown Preparatory School and volunteers for making the 6th Annual CSS Olympics & 16th Annual Family Picnic a HUGE success! The CSS Olympics and Annual Family Picnic, held June 25, 2011, were a tremendous success this year, thanks again to the generosity, dedication and enthusiasm of Kevin Kane and friends, the many volunteers who helped the day of the event, the parents, family and friends who attended to support our athletes and the CSS staff who accompanied individuals and assisted them in participating. Please complete the FY 11 Satisfaction Survey! The Board of Directors of Community Support Services, Inc. needs your assistance in order to complete an annual evaluation of the quality of services provided by CSS. The Board is interested in identifying areas you feel are meeting the needs of your child or relative, the areas that need improvement, and the areas you believe are important to your child or relative’s overall quality of life. We have used the same survey form for the past thirteen years, and we are able to compare results from year to year across services. The responses from this survey are averaged and compared to previous years, and all comments are shared with the Board and staff. CSS uses the survey to make decisions going forward for the continuation of certain services and practices as well as to plan changes designed to improve services. Visit the NEW CSS Express! The Community Support Services, Inc. newsletter, the "CSS Express", has received an exciting digital makeover after several succesful print years! The new CSS Express will be in a bog format, and enable readers to interact with the content by viewing more photos, accessing videos and links and commenting on stories. The blog will also enable CSS to deliver informatino more quickly than the print edition, so you can learn about upcoming events and the latest happenings sooner! You Did It! Montgomery County Match Restored for the FY 12 Budget Your hard work and advocacy has paid off! The Montgomery County Council restored the 5% reduction in the county budget for services funded through DDA for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Please take a moment in the next few weeks to call or write council members to thank them for their action and support of these services. Some council members will attend our picnic at Gerogetown Prep on June 25, please make a point of speaking to them about the importance of these services and the county's role in supporting them. Your advocacy through your testimony, calls, and letters on this issue made a difference which positively impacts CSS and all clients supported by CSS. Thank you!
