2022 Holiday Needs

There are many ways you can help individuals supported by Community Support Services to continue to live fulfilling, satisfying lives marked by greater independence, enrichment, inclusion, and productivity. We appreciate and thank you for your continued compassion and commitment to assisting those with developmental disabilities. It is through your life-changing support that CSS can continue the community-based services and support that has enhanced the lives of so many Montgomery County citizens.

2022 Holiday Schedule

We have many events planned throughout this holiday season and with them many donation and volunteer needs in order to make these gatherings successful. With your help we can all have a great holiday season!

Thanksgiving

November 24th

Not everyone is able to spend this traditional holiday with their family. Through your support we can ensure that all individuals supported through CSS are able to enjoy a holiday meal with their friends.

Tree Trimming

December 1st

Let's make the season festive and bright! We will be decorating four trees around CSS Headquarters and CSS North.

Donation needs: Decorations for the trees, cookies, apple cider and pre-packaged individually wrapped snacks, fruit, and drink portions.

Craft Making

December 11th

Several craft stations will be set up throughout CSS headquarters. On this day individuals supported through CSS will be rotating through the station creating festive holiday decor to bring back to their homes.

Donation needs: Small trees or donations to purchase so that every home has a tree. Small non breakable (not glass) decorations for the trees.

Volunteer needs: 5 volunteers - 4 still needed!

Sing-a-long

December 14th

Individuals supported through CSS will join Music Therapist Jodi for a sing-a-long as they share some of their favorite holiday songs together. Friends will enjoy a snack together during this event.

Donation needs: Individually packaged snacks and drinks

Holiday Show

December 18th
1pm-2:30pm

The CSS Theater has been working hard on their show for months and they are excited to share this production with you. In addition to the theater performance, others will sing and share their talents. Members of the community are invited to join us "on stage" and perform.

Donation needs: Props & backdrops for the show. Individually packaged snacks & drinks.

Volunteer needs: Performers! Have a band? A dance routine? Volunteer to get on stage!

8 volunteers are needed to assist in set up, serving, and clean up. 7 still needed.

Hanukkah Celebration

December 21st
6pm - Zoom

Those who celebrate Hanukkah will join together in a virtual observance and have themed foods and decorations in their homes.

Donation needs: Assistance to provide for these meals either in the form of gift cards or monetary donations. Gelt, dreidels and decorations such as electric menorahs, tablecloths.

Celebrations

December 19-23th

Small groups will be celebrating their favorite year end holidays throughout the week and making cards for their friends.

Donation needs: Individually packaged snacks and drinks. Card making supplies.

Light Shows

December 19- 22nd

Everyone loves holiday lights! There are a variety of wonderful light shows throughout the county and our community. Tickets, or financial assistance to buy them, are greatly appreciated. If you know of a great light show please share as well!

Donation needs: Still needed! 25 Tickets to Brookside Gardens. (Weekday, 6pm)

Seneca Park Tickets have already been donated - THANK YOU!

Christmas

December 25th

Donation needs: Monetary donations (including Safeway giftcards) to offset the additional cost for this holiday meal.

New Year's Day

January 1st

A great way to ring in the new year is with a holiday feast filled with traditional foods.
