I have done a lot of different things in my life, and the truth is there’s no, even those with getting money there’s no satisfaction with that, the fact that I’m able to contribute to someone, to a family, to somebody’s life, it really means a lot. The satisfaction that you get at the end of the day when you’re in this job - nothing can compare with it. That’s the reason that I do that, being able to add value to someone’s life.

I’ve worked with a lot of different people, supporting them over the years. If you’re considering doing this work you have to put yourself in their shoes, if you do that you’ll understand them better and it only helps to build your conviction. Anyone who wants to come into this field you have to understand that the challenges that you face, some of them may feel very personal and you may feel all of them on a given day, but what you have to remember is that you are not dealing with people who necessarily thinks the same way you do and so the things that they may do and the things their actions make you feel you don’t have to take it personally. These past ten years here have taught me a whole lot, it’s taught me to be of service and what it’s taught me has transcended beyond working with this population and into my life. The reward that you get out of doing this work, nothing compares with it.
