Being a DSP is a great job, but it requires a lot of discipline and patience. It’s important to treat the individuals like they are your own, treat them like they are your brothers or your kids. Don’t treat them any differently. I had no knowledge of autism when I started this job a year ago, but being a DSP has taught me and given me a lot more knowledge. It’s an important job. CSS gave me lots of training and I put it to use right away, even personally. I am a father of a twelve year old and a three month old. The knowledge that I have from being a DSP has made me a better father.
